Just having a Boston University MBA doesn't open doors for jobs, since there are so many MBAs--morning, evening, weekend, off-site MBA programs everywhere by many universities: every manager in major companies get these degrees by attending classes on weekends. If he has connections, yes, he can use those connections with this fresh MBA degree in order to switch.  For instance, see whether Samsung USA wants to hire him as a manager in USA once he comes here. 1 year OPT, but no STEM OPT, thereafter H1-B.
