Eleven missing Niger soldiers found dead, AFP reports

The death toll from Tuesday's ambush attack from militants near the border with Mali, where multiple extremist groups operate, rose to 28 as the bodies of 11 missing Niger soldiers were discovered on Wednesday. The attack on Tuesday occurred near the town of Tongo Tongo, where fighters from an Islamic State affiliate killed four US special forces and four Nigerien soldiers in an ambush less than two years ago.
