evaraina 10 days vipassana chesara USA lo

cheste share ur experiences here?

No spamming please

i am assuming you are talking about Vipasana as taught by Late SN Goenka ji. there are many centers in US. it is a ten day course starts on a Wednesday evening and ends on Sunday week after.  You need to apply for it and slots get full pretty fast so need to plan 3 or 4 months in advance.

It is a completely free and runs on voluntary donations. for 10 days they will provide accommodation and food

for entire duration you have to be silent, no talking, reading, writing. basically no verbal or non verbal communication with anyone.  You are allowed to clarify if you have any questions regarding the method with instructor.

first three days you learn Ana Pana technique and starting fourth day you will learn Vipasana.

every day you wake up  at 4.00 AM and you go to sleep at 10.00 PM. on average you will be practicing meditation for about 12-14 hrs with some breaks in between.

No food is allowed after Lunch, just a cup of tea in the evening.  folks doing Vipasana for  first time are allowed to take a fruit and tea during evening.

Most of the information/faq is available on their website  dhamma.org

Try it only if you are serious about learning the technique and practicing.

Good luck

Then you are an old student, Vipasana is same no matter where you do it. Hyderabad or USA. Maybe there is some differences in accommodations and food choice, it should be minor as you will be spending 80% of time meditating. Check with center that is close to where you live.

If you have not been practicing all these years , try doing 1 hour a day for sometime before you register for full course. Since you are a old student you can qualify for short 3 day courses also.
