Snow falls on Nebraska as we head toward June

Nebraska is on the cold side of the clashing air that ignited severe weather to our south overnight and part of the Cornhusker chill has put snow on the ground as we nudge toward June.

Nebraska 511 reported that I-80 westbound was closed near the Bushnell exit for a time due to "multiple crashes" as the edge-of-summer snowfall snarled travel. It has since reopened.

NDOT photos give us a look at the wintry white draped across the west.

The Nebraska State Patrol shared a photo from Troop E wondering if it's "really May 20th" as the snow rolled in Monday north of Scottsbluff on Highway 71.
