intha maatraniki doctor enduku. that's his opinion.

don't you think its a little odd that even after Sitaraman (as much as I hate that b1tch) became FM, she's being referred to as someone's wife?

Indian institutes lo top talents flee to western countries. the rest are just cultural warriors in the guise of scientists and engineers. I can't say things are changing now.

its not because of Modi or anything. India has always been like this.

I actually don't think it's that bad. It was just the introduction in a paper in Angewadte Chem. I mean, it's bad, but not that bad. The research is still original and not plagiarized. I had breakfast with him in Boston. He is a nice guy. I think he deserves the recognition he got.

drbeta,

you read Ayn Rand kadha.. now read The Dispossessed if you can.

andulo last lo hero is about to be captured because he invented an equation that will make faster than light communication possible, and he wants to give it to the entire universe (he's from another planet), but the planet who sponsored his research want it for themselves so they can get a head start.

he goes into the embassy of another planet, and just gives his research away, and requests the diplomat to make sure it reaches the council of planets. That woman is surprised by his decision to just give away stuff. because they live in capitalist economy where people hold on to every little thing they can profit off. but he comes from an anarchist society that has imbibed in him the culture of sharing everything. his presence in this particular planet for 10yrs hasn't changed him, even if he enjoyed the riches, and felt guilty for the people working the sewers. In his planet, he worked the sewers himself on rotation, along with everyone.

the point is, its perfectly possible to lose yourself, and still retain yourself. You don't have to obsess about yourself to have an identity for yourself.

If the research is plagiarized or is not genuine, then the journal would've retracted it. But the fact that they haven't should mean something.ย

I like this story, but giving away his research for the greater good is still doing something worthwhile. I am not even talking about recognition of the work done here. I am talking about being referred by your name. Is it really that much to ask for?

pliagarism is just one of his vices. he sustains the toxic culture that exists in such research institutions in India.

he's also a hypocrite, in that he laments the kind of incremantal research Indian students indulge in, while he himself became famous by publishing such incremental research

for all those papers he published (obviously mostly published by his students), did he create any breakthrough in his field?
