These folks come from Bihar/UP/other states. They are called "camp labor". My friend wanted to take a construction contract for an apartment; the site engineer recommended him to get "camp labor", otherwise he can't make a profit. Quote

Always distant mountains are beautiful know I see the migration from UP/Bihar/Orissa even in small towns in AP. Bihar/Orissa labor in Kurnool, for instance. In tadipatri areas, I see people from UP working as drivers for JCB poclains for small owners. There was a time, people from my village (including my relatives and friends) who used to go to Karnataka to work as drivers for rollers, jcb poclains. Now not so much. Quote

Compared to those states you just mentioned AP is far better. Lot of people from Rajasthan all over AP ruling those push carts by selling sweets in every single remote village in AP. Quote

ekunadam_enkanna Posted June 4, 2019 Report Posted June 4, 2019 Just now, perugu_vada said: Up bihar vaalla valla crime rate perige chances ekuva ga ? em ledhu va. There was some factory in some poor part of AP. Since locals don't want to work there, since drought schemes pay locals more money for not doing much hard work. I saw at least 10 people from Bihar working there. They just live in tents near that factory. Sometimes, they just go to the nearest village for some stuff. No crime as far as I know. Crimes require big cities, easy targets, whether it is worth to steal, easy way to fence stolen property. Being a day labor itself is a tough job; if one can't be tough, he will be taken advantage of. That's why these people go work in groups under some Mesthri from their geographical area. And these mesthris take advantage of them, just like our consultancy uncles in usa do. But that's part of the business. Many in rural Karnataka say that labor from AP were strong, rough, and very easy to prone to commit crimes because some of these guys get drunk. Just like the way we see UP/Bihar labor in AP/TG construction today, telugu labor played that role in the building of canals, dams like Almatti, Hospet in Karnataka. Quote
