Friends and family asking money all the time

I call my friends and family all the time almost thrice a week. Family is self sufficient still want money to spend on lavish functions. I stopped giving they started accusing and defaming me. I came abroad on my own with my money. Helped friends later realized they are investing their money and asking me to help. I stopped giving them. Now they call me selfish ,arrogant ,not a friend in need etc.it hurts a lot. If they call it is only for money
