In US Census/application forms, yes, Indians/Chinese/East asians are all Asians. In UK, Asians = Indians (or South Asians: pakis, srilankans, indians, bangla) In typical American speech, Asians = Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laos, Japanese. Indians are not typically included in this set. Quote
