05/27/2019: DOL Plans to Implement Modernized FLAG (Foreign Labor Application Gateway) System for Permanent and Temporary Foreign Labor Certification Applications

• Employers hiring foreign workers using permanent labor certification application or temporary labor certification applications should be aware and alerted that the DOL is in the process of modernizing permanent as well as temporary foreign labor certification application systems as part of their IT modernization efforts and has released FLAG modernized temporary schedule for implementation of each labor certification application program. For instance, the iCERT system which are heavily used by employers for temporary labor certification applications, including LCA for H-1B workers is temporarily scheduled to be converted to the new modernized FLAG system during the period of October, November, and December 2019 period. Employers and their legal counsels should review and have themselves familialized with the new FLAG System.
