Naku oka doubt vastundi. Here is my understanding

1) IT industry is pretty much surviving on USDINR conversion rate for the past decade or so.

2) USDINR exchange rate is in favour of OT industry because of Crude oil imports

Now, what's going to happen in 10-15 years from now:

With Electric vehicles becoming mainstream (to help with Imports of Crude oil, help pollution), our crude oil imports will drop significantly and that will strengthen INR

Once INR strengthens, the IT industry will have a tough time to compete in cost when compared to other countries and so may not be able to grow further and may even suffer

When that happens, what could be the next big thing for India's growth?

my expectation is... population is increasing and the food available is not enough to feed the world and India... India will strenghten the agriculture and mostly corporate will take over the farming sector...

you want specific instances of how corporates are taking over farming sector?

follow that idiot Jaggi Vasudev's idiot program "Rally for Rivers". read its vision document, the plan is there in open.

how to capture India's farming lands. but ofcourse, its not going to be easy, neither will people let it happen.

india will limp its way into another industry, and keep its head barely above water, because India doesn't want to soar.

for india to soar, it has to dilute its toxic nationalism, that is breeding ground for all sorts of dumbfcuks, and concentrate on educating more, and providing healthcare to more, etc.

your actual question is - How can uppercastes keep their social advantage, and what industry will help them to, if the exchange rate goes down.?

answer: I wish, uppercastes lose their jobs, along with everybody, and everybody work in communal and personal projects they prefer, and play together in india, because robots will make sure everyone is fed.

I know uppercastes don't want to mingle. but the thought of forcing them to mingle is amazing.

IT was not the only reason but it contributes to most of our exports

everyone's going to live in a gig economy in the near future, like uber drivers now. doing the bidding of billionaires and their 'customers'.

one can start their own small business, making and selling stuff (for which I'm working on a platform).

but if automation reaches sentient levels, then nobody needs to work. whether in India or the US. ofcourse it depends on if that algorithm will be opensourced for everyone or be kept hidden in google hq. I suspect that kids of today are too radical to let google walk over them.

expanded govt spending was the reason for India's growht. service exports is different. govt is not the middleman in this type of transaction, and so generally not counted in the current trade balance.

exports of s/w are about 8% of gdp.
