ఉదర నిమ్మిత్తం బహుకృత వేషం, was presumably said by Adi Sankaracharya. For sake of stomach (ఉదర నిమ్మిత్తం), people wear many masks (బహుకృత వేషం)--that's the literary meaning. Many folks believe this to be false: if you ask Mukesh Ambani, he says "ఉదర నిమ్మిత్తం బహుకృత వేషం" is false in his case. If you ask a desi staff s/w engr at google, he will say the same.

For majority of people, it is always about filling up the stomach. Ask our ancestors whether they were passionate about farming, about carpentry, about cleaning clothes, about working on farms--no one was going to say that they were passionate(dispassionate). That's what they learned from their parents, their grandparents, etc; they had no other choice. Today, we presumably have a choice: a choice to become a s/w engr or to go to America, than to work on parched lands in AP/TG.  However, can these people (desis who immigrated to the West) provide the same kind of choice to their kids? That's an issue.

Anyway, there is a deeper issue about taste, enlightenment, etc.

Well said but whats your opinion in general ?

Just live with what u r doing and make peace with it ?

Yes, don't make traumas out of whatever is happening in your life. Your life is not an oracle database, which can be recovered at a point, and apply re-do logs. Your life is not a VM, which can be restored from a snapshot, thereafter change what you can use that VM for.  In other words, we can't apply past counterfactuals to our lives: had you been admitted to IIT/MIT or hired by Google/FB right after graduation, your life would have been different!

But the talk of "being positive, human psyche being full of positive/negative energies" doesn't help.  However, the Indian notion of అనుభవ is of help.
