chittimallu_14 Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 India lo nepotism is a very big thing... all the politicians (most of them, probably 90%) are kids of politicians from the past... most of the actors (and actresses in hindi industry) are all kids of actors/actresses from previous generations. But barely a handful of them in sports are kids of sportsmen... what does this trend tell us? Ante politics ki and movies ki talent akkarledhu but if given enough time they will all shine with a bare minimum talent and brains and with a lot of push from their parents and money? I know few actors like tarak ratna, ramesh babu, etc are not successful despite coming from movie background and also probably some politicians too. However this failure rate is a lot higher in sports and I cant even think of one single famous sportsperson that is via nepotism (atleast in India)... Discuss.... pour in your opinions on this Quote
dasara_bullodu Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 Demand leni ye field lo aina nepotism common.... There are lot of people with connections in Cricket but ultimately cricket is based on talent... gurranni oddu daka testam kani neellu taginchalem Quote

Take a player like Rohan Gavaskar whose dad is probably the greatest batsman ever to play for India and im sure they are filthy rich too... he had the interest to play and made it to the national team but couldnt succeed... take a person like ram charan who doesnt even have the minimum acting skills but he is a superstar in film industry or someone like lokesh who IMO is unfit for politics but is making it so big ... pottipotato Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 kids following their parents footsteps, or even taking their parents advice seriously won't succeed. also success is rare. in a truly meritocratic system, the family you were born into, the marks you scored in IIT JEE, none of that matters for success. someone from a small community college can potentially become a more sought after engineer than someone from MIT. there's no recipe I think its just personal drive to succeed.
