In this day and age, the BEST gift we can give to a kid is game money - i.e. AppStore Gift Card.

Apps/Games develop cognitive and problem-solving skills and so, there you go...

Kids in this era are fortunate to be growing up in so much technology at their finger tips.

It's not the same as watching dumb TV shows diluted further with $$ ad commercials. I would actually encourage gadget/app usage more and bring them up to speed (in addition to regular physical activities).

Consume everything (content, YouTube videos, games, etc) - gain knowledge and be prepared to face peer pressure. If we don't, someone else will eat our lunch!

For cognitive/problem-solving skills and brain development, there is nothing better/cheaper than apps/games. Your kid's problem-solving skills will shoot through the roof as an upward trajectory from playing challenging games and there is no stopping them!

There are some cool educational apps/games for Spelling, Math, etc.

Word Wizard - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/word-wizard-talking-movable/id447312716#?platform=ipad

Math Board - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mathboard/id373909837#?platform=ipad
