That's what some people think but on the contrary, kids actually improve their communication skills and make new friends through playing games. As long as they have some physical activity, they are golden. It's not the same as watching dumb TV shows diluted further with $$ ad commercials.

There are games that can be played on Game Center with others online.

tChess Pro - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/chess-tchess-pro/id295445501#?platform=ipad

Checkers - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/checkers/id294664915

Rubik's Cube - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/3d-rubiks-cube-rubik-solver/id1334362834

Toys are outdated - you get one big toy for big bucks and that's just one toy but you can have dozens of unbreakable games that can never be lost in your pocket for a fraction of the cost with a huge REPLAY VALUE - forever! Kids could still have some real Action Figure toys, etc. but big toys are outdated.

Why would you want to draw on a paper with no good editing features when we can draw on a tablet quickly and “digitally” and polish our project to perfection? That's like maintaining accounts in a physical ledger when we can use a computer and an accounting app and just key in and type out data.

Bro give the environment where he can make friends... toys also not needed...

If he is addicted to tv means you have already addicted to laptop or mobile...and didn’t take care of your kid

social development is better than anything... bring him to parks in summers..

We are using computers these days for everything and not paper or typewriters anymore. It's the same.

Using technology is the right way to go. These devices have evolved for a reason and purpose.

I would go as far as to say that our generation was unfortunate that these technologies did not exist when we were growing up and we learnt the hard way and wrong  way :(

Technology is the future! I could not watch that video for more than a few seconds. Stay away from these schools unless you want punish and ruin your own kid's future. Those schools are clueless what they are doing or where the world is going. These are typical Americans who are "country" and not cut out for technology and are afraid to even touch a computer. I will pray for those kids attending those schools.

The sad part is - the parents sending their kids to such old schools do spend a majority of their own time on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc but deprive their own children from using and consuming technology! Why should a school dictate that kids cannot use any devices even at their homes?? That’s their personal life and school should not have any say in it.

Would YOU like to attend such an outdated school while kids at other schools are using current "technologies"??

If it is not good for you, it is not good for your kids, either.

At Thomas Jefferson School, Arlington, VA (the best school in the US), its students do not enjoy summer (like kids at other schools do) - but they go to school and do tech projects all summer long!

WOW! You are suggesting children should be treated like sheep herd? Tech in all the schools and explore only one dimension of life? If there are schools using technology to the max, there should be schools with all ranges (max to zero).

Most sad part is "they go to school and do tech projects all summer long". I would have hated it if I am in school!
