Dhananjoy Chatterjee was the only person executed since 2000, for raping and murdering a 14yr old girl in Kolkata. The others executed were all for terrorism related cases.

84 people are currently on death row for sexual offences (including nirbhaya case offenders), including murder, and the process to finally hang them takes about 16yrs on an average.

tell me which of these 84 people have been let free?

There are already deliberations on how to speed up proceedings to put a person on the gallows as fast as possible. ofcourse human rights commission has serious problems with death penalty itself, and is blocking attempts to dilute the process, and even campaign against death row.

what are these petitioners trying to achieve? show offs.
