Edho interview lo chepparu. She was in the era when Jayapradha and Sri Devi were top heroines. She stood her ground then and was able to compete with them. She thought about it it seems. Glamorous roles she cannot beat both of them. So to beat them she should have some uniqueness in her. So she concentrated on acting and having very little makeup. Ala sahaja nati anipinchukoni she carved a niche for herself and competed with two glamorous heroines

Isn’t being beautiful a prerequisite for a heroine? Even art heroines like Smitha Patel, Nandita Das and  Shabana Azmi are beautiful. Jayasudha matram too much glamourous roles veyyakunda kooda commercial hit heroine avvagaligaru. Only a few did that.
