Ma daughter ki start chesamu . We have enrolled her in a school exclusively for ABA therapy . We have already noticed lot of change in the last 2 months . She is 2.5 years The kid was going to speech and OT from 3.5 years and started fulltime aba 30 hours per week from 3.8 years. Was diagnozed with ASD at 3.5 years(delayed because of 6months wait time) Quote
Googleyahoo Posted June 30, 2019 Report Posted June 30, 2019 Oh ok good . 30 hours of ABA therapy sounds good . Does he get therapy at home or in center ? Quote
Googleyahoo Posted June 30, 2019 Report Posted June 30, 2019 There is something called as GEMIINI videos . I think around 100 dollars a month . If possible, subscribe and let the kid watch those . They have lesson plans . Maybe 30-60 min /day Quote
Googleyahoo Posted June 30, 2019 Report Posted June 30, 2019 And also please follow Gluten free diet . Like I said no evidence but again no harm in following a gluten free diet Quote

Googleyahoo Posted June 30, 2019 Report Posted June 30, 2019 Regular 18 month visit . We are physicians . Maku koncham doubt vachindi . Without a diagnosis you cannot get services kada . So initially we were skeptical about her being labeled as autistic but then we thought we have to try everything for her to improve . And I am really happy about the ABA therapy Quote
Googleyahoo Posted June 30, 2019 Report Posted June 30, 2019 Please cut down on screen time if that is an issue . That is one of the culprits. Take the kid outside as much as possible Quote

JambaKrantu Posted June 30, 2019 Report Posted June 30, 2019 Send them to speech and ABA.. Even in Autism there are many different levels.. High Functioning kids usually oka 5 years ki will talk fluently and by the time they are in teens they adopt to the world outside and start functioning well.. They still need some support here and there but they will mostly manage on their own.. Medium functioning kids will talk but not fluently, with some help they will get through school but normal life will be a little hard for them.. Low functions kids no matter how much you support they will not talk or never lead a normal life.. It's all your luck and usually oka 5 years ki you can get a clear picture about how sever their autism is.. Quote

JambaKrantu Posted June 30, 2019 Report Posted June 30, 2019 Also high functioning kids ki sending to India will work because of more social interaction, they tend to pick up things quickly. Also the stress on parents will be lower in India because of extended family and availability of help, like you can hire teachers, baby sitters to come to your home and teach..In the US the parents have to do everything on their own and it takes a lot of strain on them.. Medium and low functioning kids ni it's better to keep them here rather than sending them to India.. Quote

No screen time while eating . Please. Even we did the same mistake . We stopped when my daughter was 18 months old . My daughter didn’t eat well for 2-3 days and after that she forgot . Tanaku enta kavalo anta tintundi. It’s ok if the kid isn’t chubby . Chalamandi videos petti tinipistaru so that kids eat more . Not necessary. Please don’t make that mistake . NO SCREEN TIME AT ALL . It makes lot of difference. Because of all these gadgets , these kids are kind of in their own world . Stop and you will notice the difference Quote
