Jagan realises 'true colours' of KCR, calls off Gov meeting |

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to have finally realised the 'true colours' of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Jagan called off meeting between chief secretaries and senior officials of TS and AP at Raj Bhavan today in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan.

This meeting was aimed to discuss and resolve bifurcation-related issues between TS and AP, especially the distribution of assets of common institutions listed under Schedule IX and X of AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

This meeting was convened as a follow-up to meeting between KCR and Jagan at Pragthi Bhavan on June 28.

Jagan is reportedly upset at KCR proposing to share only bank deposits of common institutions but refusing to share their assets with AP in the ratio of population of 52:48 between AP and TS.

KCR argued that the assets of common institutions should belong to a particular state based on their location.

In Schedule IX, there are 89 institutions, whose assets are valued at Rs 1.58 lakh crore.

In Schedule X, there are 142 institutions, whose assets are valued at Rs 38,000 crore. Both together account for assets worth nearly Rs 2 lakh crore.

Almost all the common institutions are set up in Hyderabad, as it was the capital of Undivided AP. As per KCR's argument, AP will get nothing except bank deposits.

These institutions have bank deposits of nearly Rs 20,000 crore and as per KCR's proposal, AP will get Rs 12,000 crore and TS Rs 8,000 crore.

KCR planned to ratify his proposals in the meeting to be held at Raj Bhavan today with an intention that Jagan has become CM only recently, has no experience and if these meetings are held hurriedly and ratified by Governor, Telangana will get all the assets.

However, Jagan has realised at the last minute that KCR was not showing any 'give and take approach' but only trying to cause loss to AP under the guise of maintaining 'cordial ties' between TS and AP.

Jagan realised that his 'bonhomie' with KCR will only hurt AP's interests adversely and directed officials not to attend today's meeting at Raj Bhavan.

With this, today's meeting has been cancelled abruptly.

Jagan has decided to seek legal experts opinion on sharing assets before attending any meeting convened by either KCR or Governor.
