Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam says extradition bill that sparked protests 'is dead'

In a press conference, Lam said the work to amend the extradition bill, which would allow extraditions to China for the first time, was a "total failure." The announcement comes after weeks of public pressure sparked by several mass protests in Hong Kong. It is unclear whether the bill will be withdrawn.
