A220 which was Bombardier before airbus took over the A220, was supposed to replace these MD-8X series. As bombardier was Canadian, Boeing field a case of dumping on Bombardier as Boeing did not have a production model in this category and lobbied to impose almost 300% hike in taxes as this A220 was being produced in Canada.

Boeing actually makes more money out of MD-8X series in the name of maintenance and spares and up gradations than it would make money by selling a new aircraft and enforced non competing agreements with its partner airlines and so airlines especially American and Delta did not had a choice other than to fly MD-8x series.

wow I didnt know this story... always thought A220 was a brainchild of Airbus.

Waiting for that 777x by boeing, delays aithayemo anukuntunna due to the max mess they are in

Embraers are really good flights man...JetBlue has entire fleet of ERJ's and 175's..

Embraer ni kuda sagam kudipindi Boeing gaade...veedi mida lawsuits file chesi lobbied for higher customs duty as this plane is not manufactured in USA...

or else majority of the older fleet of airliens, narrow bodies would have replaced by Embraer and C-series of Bombardier which is now A220

No man...A220 is nothing but Bombardier C-900 series...Airbus had no role in developing this aircraft, Bombardier needed a partner in USA so that they could manufacture c-series in USA so that they don't have to pay 300% customs duty and avoid penalties under anti-dumping and sold 51% to Airbus for nothing...

Literally Airbus now has a project which is the real money spinner, which they have acquired for nothing...phukat la oka entire project kottesindu airbus...pilli eluka game lo inkevado bagupadinattu

eh? whatever you wrote is no where relevant to the topic...

im trying to understand the boeing's hand in airlines not going for a220 or embraers but opting md's like he said

A220 is nothing but CJ series of bombardier which airbus bought the program since they have facility to manufacture in US, Boeing was never into small passenger planes but when airbus took over CJ series program from bombardier, they wanted to get into that segment.

The plane was a 32-year-old MD-88 with engines on the fuselage near the tail, ABC News reported. Delta offered a $30 food voucher to passengers. @~`

A220 and Embraer 175 are gonna be game changers in tier2 and tier-3 connectivity...

most modern aircraft...fuel efficient, seating can be upto 110-120 and have flying distance of almost 3500 miles...no need to upgrade the airport and fly by wire, very less training to pilots and very low on maintenance, overhaul once every 60,000 hours...

oka new market segment ni create chestunayi ie two aircrafts...

Boeing is a gaint and there is no doubt it ...They made the game-changing aircrafts

717, 737, and most importantly 747 and now 787, 777 and 777x...and apart from making great flights, Boeing controls the market so well that no other manufacturer even comes closer to them, No..Airbus is far behind in this game...

The kind of lobbying boeing does, no one comes second. AIRBUS kuda edo EU lo vundi bratikipoindi...Boeing used many tactics to stop suppliers from supplying to parts until 1990's...EADS tarvata Boeing could not control Airbus much..

World lo vunna entire MRO control chesedi kuda Boeing...which is more lucrative business than making planes...

Airbus odu teesukovadam valla ipudu A220 ki oka 500 backlog order vundi and by 2022, this backlog order is expected to grow to 1000

anduke eedu ipudu malli defence mida paddadu...Boeing defence is about to get awarded one of the largest order from US airforce in an year or two...

passenger market loss ni defence tho close cheyadaniki sustunatu vunadu eedu
