The government, in a statement, said the amendments in Section-2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 14, 15, 34,42 and 45 of the POCSO Act, 2012 are being made to address the aspects of child sexual abuse in an appropriate manner.

The proposed changes in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act also provide for fines and imprisonment to curb child pornography.

The Union Cabinet has given its nod to amend certain sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 to include provision of death penalty in cases of sexual offences against children.

“The modification is made to address the need for stringent measures required to deter the rising trend of child sex abuse in the country on one hand and to address the menace of relatively new kind of crimes on the other hand,” Prakash Javadekar, Minister for Information & Broadcasting, told media persons.

“Sections four, five and six are proposed to be amended to provide option of stringent punishment, including death penalty, for committing sexual assault and aggravated penetrative sexual assault crime on a child to protect the children from sexual abuse,” according to an official statement.

Amendments are also proposed in Section 9 to protect children from sexual offences in times of natural calamities and in other situations where children are administered, in any way, any hormone or any chemical substance, to attain early sexual maturity for the purpose of penetrative sexual assault. Amendments are also proposed in Section 14 and 15 of the POCSO Act to levy fine for not destroying, deleting or reporting the pornographic material involving a child with an intention to share or transmit it.

Chavu ki chavu samadhanama? Manishi lo change ravali ade siksha ki real expected outcome. I am not supporting rape they should be severely punished but death penalty ki inka manishi lo marpu emostundi. Slums lo red area lo perige vallaki ilantivi em teledu. They think sleeping with any woman or forcing is just okay. Mana laga civilized ga peragaledu ga. Ollu balisina rich kids ki yes death penalty makes sense but for people who has dark bg may be 20 years imprisonment with a chance is okay emo. IDK . Bhayam lekunda ela rapes roju jarugutu unte yes death penalty is only option left to keep people in control anduke annanu IDK if this is right emo mari IDK ani in current situations .

All these laws will never prevent such things from happening again...

Weatern countries lo kuda laws chala tough, kani ilanti crimes emi agaledu

Law is least effective when it comes to avoiding personal crimes like these...edo oka 50% percent cheyochu emo kani avoid matram cheyaleru and idi nenu chepedi kadu, facts cheptunayi....

Dont get blinded by majoritarian opinion...

Only good education, especially elemnatary and high school education can help prevent such things...
