Darbhalu veyyamani stored food meedha antuke antaru which can control the effect.. Eclipses tend to have a powerful effect on us and the natural body clock. This is something which has roots in traditional systems of medicine and Ayurveda too. Hence, a lot of people follow this customarily and have certain dos and donts while cooking or eating certain food items. During an eclipse, what usually happens in a span of 28 days over a proper lunar cycle happens over the course of two or three hours, when the eclipse occurs. Since the planetary position of the earth moves away from its fixed place, changes are bound to happen. This, again, has no scientific claim but still as a general precaution, diet restrictions are imposed. Here are some of the usually followed diet myths prevalent across regions: -There is no change in the nourishing powers of raw or uncooked food. However, there is a change in the properties of cooked food. It might not have the same effect on your body. During an eclipse, ultraviolet radiation, which naturally destroys the bacteria in the atmosphere, becomes extremely low. This leads to the uncontrolled growth of the microorganisms. This makes most of the consumable unsafe for eating. -Non-vegetarian food takes a lot of time to digest, making it unsafe to be consumed during an eclipse. -Alcohol is strictly forbidden as it may have a negative impact on our body during a lunar eclipse (Chandra Grahan). The effect of alcohol is said to increase during this unfavourable time. -From the Ayurvedic point of view, you should be eating light and easy-to-digest foods a minimum of two hours before the eclipse. -Some customs also specify that since the eclipse holds a powerful effect on your health, you should refrain from eating or consuming anything during the hours of the eclipse. -Eclipses also bring an influx of negative energy and toxins into the system. Hence, Ayurveda prescribes the use of a natural detoxifier, darbha grass during the duration of the eclipse.
