UAE denies ownership of oil tanker that went missing in Strait of Hormuz

Amid concerns from the US that an oil tanker may have been seized by Iran after allegedly stopping in Iranian waters, an official in the UAE stated that the tanker was neither UAE owned nor operated. The news follows heightened tensions between Iran and the US.

Because US oil companies had a contract with UAE companies. So they hold exclusive rights on some of their natural resources as per the agreement. You need to watch this video to know the history first.
