One more imp thing to consider.

google promotion process is broken system. I know few folks who got stuck at same level for several years. I think amazon scores better in this aspect

May be your friend have some other issues but My friend is also working for Amazon. He says work is more but still manageable that I know.

Not really.  Valla team ala undemo. I have 4-5 friends who work for amazon. Okappudu nenu tega anukunedanini to go to this big 5 companies now i wont even try there. Work life balance lekunda ah torture i dont want. I feel what kind of life is that ?  My priorities in life are different. When i look back at age of 60 or 70 i want memories dont want to feel i had terrible life. Its all about what you want in the end.
