Zimbabwe suspended by ICC over 'government interference'

Zimbabwe have been suspended from the ICC with immediate effect. ICC funding to Zimbabwe Cricket has been frozen, and representative teams from Zimbabwe will not be allowed to participate in any ICC events while under suspension, making Zimbabwe's participation in the Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier in August and Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier in October highly unlikely. After several rounds of meetings in London this week, the ICC Board unanimously decided that Zimbabwe Cricket was in breach of Article 2.4 (c) and (d) of the ICC Constitution, and that the actions of the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) in suspending the board in June constituted government interference in Zimbabwe Cricket's affairs. "We do not take the decision to suspend a Member lightly, but we must keep our sport free from political interference," ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar said. "What has happened in Zimbabwe is a serious breach of the ICC Constitution and we cannot allow it to continue unchecked."

Govt of India does not control the finances of BCCI .......
like temples we have devadaya shakha which takes all money from temples and then spends on improvements of all the Temples, Mosques, Churches. (BTW, Mosques and Churches do not come under this ....that is different topic)

Now coming to Supreme court , if you have a dispute between two parties in any institution (lalit modi issue) you can go to court and follow the law of the land.

hope there is clarity. The day govt's interfere with Cricket BCCI then it will come under sports ministry and it will become like any other sport where people with influence will send their kids into sports and want to get sports quota jobs etc and no medals for country.

Pak cricket is banned by BCCI not by India. India not dealing with Pak and other things that india can decide. but BCCI is following the govt, govt is not instructing BCCI. It is about the pride of India which BCCI is keeping it up and high. 

Now as BCCI is under ICC hence we play Pak in other series outside India. We will not host or have series with Pak exclusively which BCCI can control. Next World cup is in India and we will host Pak as per ICC rules. now PAK does not want to come that will be upto them.
