With the lowest tax on ATF, state government reimbursing overnight parking and all other charges incurred for the airlines, Airlines found it viable to park their planes in Vizag and Vijayawada airports and benefited from lowest taxes on aviation turbine fuel. 

The private airlines used to park their flights here overnight and the first flights used to be out of these two cities and hence the frequency improved although the real demand was never there, the occupancy ratio was less than 60% against the 75% for the route to be profitable.

With the state government not extending such incentives, the airlines are not parking their planes anymore in these airports and hence the cancellations.

Alliance Air, which is a subsidiary of Air India, had to cancel its services to Visakha after TDP Government failed to clear arrears of Rs 23 crore under Regional Connectivity Scheme.
