Marcus Hutchins was arrested in 2017 by the FBI on suspicion of creating a malware designed to steal peoples’ bank details. However, a US judge has applauded his work stopping a worldwide virus, which also affected the NHS. The hacker has been sentenced to a one-year supervised release.
