The weight of Melon should be Heavier for its size ---> More Pulpy

Dark Green Lines with White Patch at bottom --> ripe and juicy.

Tap it to hear the hollow sound --> more water content

check outside to see any hole son the surface, indication of worms  inside the fruit

 lift it up, it has to be heavy for its size , tap and listen for hollow sound

hollow sound represents the center part of the core is sweet and beginning to dehydrate and turn to pure sugar

white patch or blemish on watermelon exterior skin is due to it resting on ground on that particular spot while growing up.

creamy yellow spots on one side of the melon and green throughout will indicate its ripe enough

this also gives an indication that This is where the watermelon sat on the ground while it soaked up the sun at the farm. If this spot is white or greenish, your watermelon may have been picked too soon
