immagadda Prasad, an Andhra Pradesh-based businessman, has been arrested in Europe on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. Nimmagadda Prasad is believed to be a close aid of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Reddy. According to reports surfaced in vernacular media, Nimmagadda Prasad has been nabbed by Serbia Police in Belgrade in connection to the Vanpic case after a complaint was lodged against him by Ras Al Khaimah (a city in UAE). 

Nimmagadda Prasad is allegedly accused in some wrongdoing in the Vodarevu-Nizampatnam Port and Industrial Corridor (Vanpic) Project which is being done in a joint partnership with Ras Al Khaima. The Vanpic project was approved under the regime of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S.R Reddy. Nimmagadda Prasad has also been arrested earlier and has spent nearly 2 years in connection with the same case.

The Serbian Police is questioning Prasad in Belgrade with a complaint from representatives of Ras al Khaimah. Nimmagadda Prasad has gone to Serbia for a vacation. Separate regional media reports suggest, Ras Al Khaimah has filed the complaint in the case of Vanpic shares and has approached Interpol with new CEO complaint. YSR MPs have already begun the efforts to being Prasad back to India and written communication has also been sent to the Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to discuss the matter with Serbia, the report added.

Very recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had attached the assets worth Rs 148.89 crore with regard to the alleged involvement of YSRC Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Nimmagadda Prasad. The ED has attached the land assets to the tune of 11,804.78 acres illegally allotted to the firms of Nimmagadda Prasad, a newspaper report said.
