While eight crest gates of the Srisailam project were opened to let off the flood flow, the Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) is adding, to its live storage, one tmc feet an hour and is expected to be full to its designed gross storage capacity of 312 tmc in the next 86 hours. Both Almatti and Narayanpur dams, which have been receiving inflows in the range of range of 1.35 lakh cusecs to 1.47 lakh cusecs, respectively, are expected to further increase their outflows, contributing to the flood to Jurala project, the inflows and outflows, which are in the order of 1.73 lakh and 1.74 lakh cusecs. Inflows steady The instant outflows and inflows of the Srisailam dam were maintained at 3.20 lakh cusecs till 6 p.m. The live storage of the Srisailam project touched 206 tmc, against its gross storage capacity of 215.81 tmc. The gross storage of Nasagarjunasagar project touched 231 tmc and is likely to take another 80 hours to build the water level to its designed gross storage capacity of 312 tmc. The total inflows into the NSP are in the order of 2.91 lakh cusecs. The NSP Chief Engineer, S Sunil, said that 2.18 lakh cusecs of flow was being received after eight crest gates of Srisailam were opened. About 30,000 cusecs of water was coming from the Srisailam right bank power house and 42,000 cusecs from the Srisaiam Left Bank power house channel. Confidence on FRL He exuded confidence that the Nagarjuna Sagar project will reach its full reservoir level (FRL) in less than four days if the inflows continue to be of the same order. “We can build the storage up to 585 ft, against the FRL of 590 ft if the inflow continued to be heavy.” As far as the Godavari basin projects are concerned , the live storage of the SRSP project touched 70 tmc and the inflows are showing a decline. The flood in Godavari is also falling and the first as well as the second warnings are being withdrawn at Bhadrachalam. https://telanganatoday.com/eight-gates-of-srisailam-opened Jagan vachaadu andhukey filled last yr gurinchi maaku thelavadhu Quote

Palamoor ranga reddy project shadnagar ki 1 lakh acres unnadi plan la. Next year nundi 1tmc per day pump cheyali ani plan unnadi kani shad nagar ki enki 3-4 years varaku doubtful as works are going at a slow pace for various reasons ( environmental clearances, funding, and Kaleshwaram taking priority because of water availability) Ultimately all the pumped water from all lift irrigation projects is going to channelized to villages tanks and lakes. That is the ultimate goal to rejuvenate the ground water. Palamuru project, the game changer 26th Jan 2019 The scheme in its first phase envisages lifting of 90 TMC of flood water in 60 days during the flood season from the foreshore of the Srisailam project on Krishna river at Yellur (V), Kollapur(M) in Mahabubnagar district through five separate stages, ending at K P Laxmidevipally (V), Kondurg (M), near Shadnagar town at the highest elevation. Each stage comprises of a reservoir and conduit for taking the water forward with pump houses being constructed at necessary places. Water will be drawn from selected reservoirs through a separate canal and pipeline distribution network. The scheme is being executed in two phases. Stage I clearance Stage I forest clearance has been accorded for the project as part of this some 500 acres of forest land near Narlapur village in Nagarkurnool district has been conveyed to the State. A total of 15,790 hectares of land needs to be acquired for excavation of main canal and the distributary network of the project. The State government had redesigned the project in June 2016 and accorded administrative sanction of Rs 35,200 crore for the works. Efforts are on to speed up the process for obtaining the final environmental clearance and hydrology clearance and other CWC related approvals. Though the process was delayed because of the legal hurdles following cases filed in the National Green Tribunal and other courts, the State government had already got the go ahead from the NGT in respect of the drinking water component of the project. Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation scheme would in fact in fact be one of the major projects involving least submergence. Some 2,450 families are facing the risk of displacement and their houses are likely to come under submergence. The balancing reservoirs expected to come up at six places as part of the project would create a storage capacity of 67.85 tmc. Quote
hyperbole Posted August 12, 2019 Author Report Posted August 12, 2019 Good news for all rayalaseema, krishna, nalgonda, mahaboobnagar and Hyd. Nagarjuna sagar filling fast, and all medium, minor irrigation schemes also receiving water Srisailam all set to touch 10-year high Inflows expected to reach 9 lakh cusecs; 4 NSP gates to be lifted today AddThis Sharing Buttons Facebook Twitter LinkedIn WhatsApp Pinterest By AuthorTelanganaToday | Published: 11th Aug 2019 9:49 pmUpdated: 12th Aug 2019 12:14 am Srisailam project was maintaining an outflow of 7,78,848 cusecs on Sunday. Hyderabad: With Krishna river swollen due to heavy rains in the upper reaches, the inflows received at Srisailam project, one of the common projects of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was 6,53,344 cusecs on Sunday. The inflows are expected to swell touching nine lakh cusecs tonight, which would be the highest after 2009, when over 9.5 lakh cusecs of flood was received only from Jurala project while almost a matching contribution was made to the flooding by Tungabhadra inundating Kurnool city. While Srisailam project is maintaining an outflow of 7,78,848 cusecs on Sunday, four of the 26 crest gates of Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) will be opened on Monday to let out the flood flow. The NSP authorities are closely monitoring the flood situation. The NSP is receiving close to three tmc an hour. The project Chief Engineer Narasimha Rao said that the crest gates will be opened once the storage touched crest level of 546 ft. The inflows being received by the project are highest in the recent years, he added. Water was released into the Nagarjuna Sagar Left canal and right canal in the day. The Education Minister of Telangana G Jagishwar Reddy and the AP Minister for Irrigation P Anilkumar, exhibiting a rare show of bonhomie, joined the poojas performed at the project before release of the water to the Left canal and right canal of the project. The rare show of bonhomie exhibited by the two Ministers representing the two Telugu States was in sharp contrast to the instances of confrontation involving the officials, police and elected representatives at the dam during the past five year after bifurcation of the states. Quoting the CWC flood forecast, the Chief Engineer of Srisailam Project B Narayan Reddy said that the inflows might touch even 9 lakh cusecs as there was no let up so far in the flood situation in the catchment of the upstream project in the basin. Consequent to rise in the flood flow, drawls from the Pothireddypadu head regulators are also raised to fill a number of major and medium irrigation projects that have Srisailam project as the only source for inflows. The Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme in Mahabubnagar district and Srisailam Left Bank Canal in Nalgonda district also started receiving supplies. Power generation was resumed at the hydel units of the Srisailam projects. The flood discharges from Almatti and Narayanpura dams are 5.40 lakh cusecs and 6.11 lakh cusecs at 6 pm on Sunday. Tungabhadra, a tributary of krishna, which is also on the rise, is adding to the flood flow by 2.29 lakh cusecs. Quote
