r2d2 Posted August 13, 2019 Report Posted August 13, 2019 A Pennsylvania reptile sanctuary shared video of a snake that had to be rescued from itself when it swallowed several inches of its own tail. The Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary shared video of Jesse Rothacker helping out the eastern kingsnake that became a real-life ouroboros by swallowing 10 inches of its own tail. It is interesting to know that the German Organic Chemist August Kekulé said that he had discovered the ring shape of the benzene molecule after having a reverie or day-dream of a snake seizing its own tail (this is an ancient symbol known as the ouroboros).
