AIIMS commenced at Bibinagar

 AIIMS Hyderabad commenced its operations with a first batch of 50 students, out patient services will be handled by NIMS for now. State government built the existing buildings in an area of 200 acres for NIMS bibinagar but TS govt lobbied for AIIMs with a proposal they would turn in NIMS facilities (200 acres of land and existing buildings) if they are granted AIiMS and center agreed for the proposal in 2018. In this deal center is also going to invest additional 1000 crores for new buildings and equipment. This will be go hospital for all high profile people and commoners in the coming years owing to the research nature and this will also fuel development in the east corridors of the city.
