"Obul reddy", "Obulesu", "Obulamma", etc are very common names in Kurnool, Kadapa, West Prakasam, Anantapur. People are named after "Ahobileswara narasimha", whose temple place is called Ahobilam in Nalamala hills across Allagadda. Ahobilam is pronounced as "Obulam" by locals. That's how we see these names. There was a freedom fighter named "Kandula Obul Reddy". These days, no one in these districts (kurnool, kadapa, anantapur, west prakasam) names their kids with "Obul", since that name sounds so "moratu"/pindhu. Quote
