U worked 4yrs using mulesoft..ru still working or moved to diff tech..

New to esb ..pulling data and putting in db or what's real usecase koncham show light @Somedude

Not in Mule now. Java and related techs. Did work in SAP BI and DWH/DB techs early days.

Simple use-case kastam cheppadam. Its used for creating msg work flows and application orchestration..like fetching the data from source..and using enterprise integration design patterns like rouing, translating, splitting, aggregating and etc. Mule and other Integration frameworks like Spring Integration (worked for 1.5 year), Apache Camel provide out of the box features for the above things. Java lo 6 months chese project..Integration frameworks can achive in 1-2 months.

Not just DB. They have connectors to MQ, DB, HTTP, SOAP, Sales force, SAP, FTP, Kafka, Amazon, LDAP, Cassandra and etc. Too many out of the box. Not need to write the code for connections and no need to write code for orchastration.

Now they expacnted to API management using something called RAML which is similar to Swagger or Apigee.

For Integration patterns - check here. It has the complete list and the explanation.
