Oribter any help other than relaying singals from lander?

Anyone knows if the orbiter has other function apart from relaying landers signals?

Good luck guys. Great work by ISRO scientists. Not an easy task to go to the last minute.

Disappointed with Sivan now and Radhakrishnan in the past. Veelladharu..unnecssarily Govt and Modi ni too much invloving. Every step needs to be at extreme precision and critically important. Chandrayan 1 and MOM missions ..I didn't see MMS doing the same kind of attention seeking acts like Modi.
