- Speaker John Bercow has announced that he will step down.

- MPs vote to force the government to release documents about no-deal Brexit planning, and private messages dealing with the decision to prorogue Parliament.

- Jeremy Corbyn's motion urging the government to comply with a no-deal prevention law passes without a vote.

- MPs again rejected a general election, with most opposition MPs abstaining.

- Boris Johnson insists he will not ask the EU for a delay to Brexit despite a law that says he must if he a deal is not reached.

- Parliament will then be dismissed until October 14.
