BREAKING: DHS says the release of its proposal to end the #H4EAD program won't come out until at least spring 2020

A proposal to eliminate a work program for the spouses of H-1B workers waiting for their green cards won’t see the light of day for at least several months.

The earliest that the proposed regulation could be published is the spring of 2020, and that’s “aspirational,” lawyers for the Homeland Security Department told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Sept. 16. Still, they believe that the lawsuit challenging the work permits should be put on hold because of the Trump administration’s continued intent to rescind the program.
