Dozens of civilians killed after airstrike and attack in Afghanistan

An airstrike conducted by the Afghan security forces – backed by US air support – targeting an Islamic State hideout in eastern Afghanistan, has hit workers killing at least 30 civilians and injuring 40, government officials said. In a separate incident, the Taliban claimed responsibility for an attack outside a hospital in southern Afghanistan, killing multiple people. This comes after a bombing at a presidential campaign rally in Afghanistan led to dozens of fatalities earlier this week.
