Telugus Picked up Cheap Song for Howdy Modi Event!

On Sunday, the Howdy Modi event was a huge success in Houston. Nearly 50,000 Indian Americans turned up at the historic event. As a part of the program, Telugu students performed for a song in front of thousands of people in attendance. It’s not the song that caught the attention, but the choice of the song.

They chose the item song ”Pakka Local’ that has got some double meaning words in it for a prestigious event like Howdy Modi event. That was totally unexpected. Naturally, this performance from Telugu students received a mixed response.

Normally, a dance song with rich cultural significance would be the best choice for such prestigious events. Those who were surprised and disappointed at the choice of the song have been pouring their opinions on choosing item songs. When two big powerful leaders were going to share a common platform, we don’t expect anything like ‘Pakka Local’ that has got no cultural significance as far as the event was concerned.
