That's true. Missing someone and not feeling connected to anyone/anything around us is loneliness. 

One don't feel lonely, when they can connect themselves to nature or music or some art or fellow beings or God. And yes memories too.

Caring about what others think is different from what you think about yourself. I know I am not as smart as most people around me, but I don't care about what others think about me. I just do my thing.
