Trey Gowdy in talks to join the White House fight against impeachment

According to multiple reports, the former federal prosecutor met chief of staff Mick Mulvaney on Tuesday as the Trump administration told Congress it would not cooperate with the ongoing impeachment inquiry. According to some reports, Gowdy appeared set to accept a role as outside counsel. The reports conflicted on the contours of Gowdy's role, however.
