The latest comes after a deal between Syrian government forces and Kurdish forces, previously allied with the US, to help them fend off Turkey’s incursion, which is now in its sixth day. Last week, US President Donald Trump ordered American troops in northern Syria to step aside, clearing the path for Turkish forces.
