R was developed as a language for Statistic al calculations..whereas Python was not.. maturity of R in stats is much better when compared to Python but has some memory drawbacks and performance issues though..still better than other tools used for similar processing. Python is doing good with Jupyter to take a slice in Datascience processing..but still far to go... Quote
