i went few years back and luggage was directly picked in hyd. since we stay in international side of airports we dont have to pick them in delhi. things might have changed now

You have to clear immigration at first entry point including customs, this is rule for all country. For your case Delhi is entry point so you have to collect you luggage clear customs then board domestic flight in own through you book connecting flight. For good business some international airlines have association with domestic airlines for better service of their customers.

that is generally the rule. but Air india operated the domestic lines from international terminals of these airports. so luggage can be picked at the destination. things might have changed but i did travel once this way and the luggage was only picked in hyd
