South Africa's government stated "crimes against women and children will no longer be tolerated" after a post office worker pleaded guilty to all charges relating to the rape and murder of 19-year-old student Uyinene Mrwetyana. The case sparked demonstrations earlier this year over high rates of violence against women in the country.
