This may be cynical view but think from this perspective. You saved 2000$ because you thought there might be some Illness this year. But the illness never came, which means your family’s immune system is not compromised this year. You guys survived one of the toughest years in your life. 2000 is nothing compared to the problems people are facing/will face in future due to weakened immune system.

I was talking about depending care fsa which is mostly used for baby sitters, nanny, adult care, etc

you can as long as they have an business entity, or you can call fsa/benefits and ask how you can claim..its nothing illegal
