France says 13 French soldiers killed in helicopter crash in Mali

A statement by the French presidency said the soldiers were killed during an operation against jihadists in Mali on Monday evening. According to Reuters, this marks the "single biggest loss of French troops in combat in the region since intervening there in 2013."
