Genesis is marketed as Luxury Version of Hyundai similar to Lexus for Toyota and Acura for Honda.

The build quality is good. You should test drive and see if you would like it.

Check the reviews and warranty plus maintenance costs. I believe maintenance cost is on par with Lexus or Acura but not as expensive as German luxury automakers.

Different people have different experiences. My experience is quite opposite to @MRI. I owned a brand new Hyundai Car, drove it for 150k miles with no issues other than regular maintenance. My car had a  2 recalls which they generally fix it for free and they fixed my car for free too. Also, I know first hand case of Toyota Camrys transmission being screwed up for 110k miles. So, any modern car generally would last for 150k with no issues if maintained properly.

Anyways, get extended/additional warranty once your regular warranty is gone for any luxury vehicle.
