Can the weaker batsman walkout of ground without any reason?? just googled: Law 25.4: Retired[edit] Main article: Retired (cricket) If any batsman leaves the field of play without the Umpire's consent for any reason other than injury or incapacity, he may resume the innings only with the consent of the opposing captain. If he fails to resume his innings, he is out. Quote

Captain may not come in directly but can pass on message to batsmen in way change of glove or drink and after some time batsmen can walk off but can come back to play only if opposition captain gives consent.. This happened in a test match when Attapattu and Jayawardena got retired out for no reason of injury or other just to let other batsmen get a chance to bat.. First time retired out was posted in dismissal reason.. Its against sportsman spirit with tough to enforce in T20s where in batsmen may get out.. Quote

If he's a good batsman they will take it as OUT. Quote

If a player is playing slow and he feels next batsman can play better .. he can Retire.. the only difference is he will be recorded in score book as retired OUT, but if he retires saying injured ..he can come back after fall of next wicket or next batsman retiring .. What is the Opposite team or umpires doesn't agree? Opposing team or umpires has no say , its upto the batsman What is the reason Batsman can say? No reason needed, he can retire any time, before the ball is bowled. Without giving self out or getting hurt, can he just leave crease without any cause??? Yes he can.. if he gives a cause saying he is injured umpires will take his word as granted and will say he is retired injured.. but if he says he is leaving then he is retired OUT Quote

The opposing team captain approval is needed in only one scenario.. if a player has to be changed after nominations are given then and only then its needed to get other captain approval.. say if you gave the initial 11 to umpire and then some emergency came for ur bowler and he cannot play and leave the game if you have a 12th man who can replace him , you need approval from other captain and notify umpires of such change.. Please note this can be done any time.. meaning ..after nominations done, even in middle of game ... Quote
