hyperbole Posted December 15, 2019 Report Posted December 15, 2019 Kaleshwaram electricity burden might substansially come down due to the agreemnent from NTPC agreeing to supply under Rs 3/ per unit-. In perspective when the project was planned the unit price was upwards of Rs 8 Quote

Will it go down to 3500-4000 crores now? 10k crores for only kaleshwaram is greatly exaggerated. May 10k for whole of existing lift irrigation and upcoming irrigation projects across the state. Overall the state requires 7000MW of power for lift irrigation and when unit was costing upwards of Rs 8 it was estimated it would cost approx 5k crores. Kaleswaram project has some redundancies built into it. depending on the kind of monsoons we have 40% of the pumps can be turned off, in a scenario if we have a good monsoon season in the upstream regions. For example SRSP got filled this year through natural water flow in the river and only when the water availability is low they will do a reverse pumping from a different point for example where the godavari river meets additional tribunaries(medigadda or treveni sangamam). SRSP is 90TMC and is the biggest reservoir in north TG and filling it would take few hundred crores. Similarly, yellampalli project got filled. Part of kaleshwaram is creating these redundancies where it can supplement a poor monsoon season and thus a creating a water grid of sorts eventually where one water source will supplement the other. Solar power and the new barrage which they commissioned last week on Godavari is a multi-purpose irrigation project with the capacity to reserve 37 TMC of water. The project, which will be built at Dummugudem of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, will generate 320 megawatts of hydel power. As we move forward the next will phase will be operationalizing and creating efficiencies wherever they can (we will end with with 5-6 barrages on godavari river and has potential to generate hydel power) https://www.news18.com/news/india/telangana-govt-to-construct-another-multipurpose-project-on-godavari-river-2414897.html floating solar panels proposed in one of the reservoirs to generate power for pumping https://telanganatoday.com/telangana-to-have-floating-solar-plants-to-power-li-projects 2 Quote

That situation was like once in a decade type...coal blocks auction and re-tender, lot of projects got stalled because of this court order, 6 months varaku motham works agipoinayi, NTPC works stalled, Power finance corporation degara unspent money vunde.. Dora played the game perfectly...3 months la motham clearences, financial closure, BHEL degara machinery which was ready to dispatch, PFC degara finance with state back up...existing projects capacity expansion...and most importantly coal blocks auction suspension valla singareni ki faraq padakapoga, heavy demand for singareni which helped us to buy power from other grids after AP refused to sell power... Sometimes, faster decision making process helps us a lot, it itself is an effient situation and look at now...no power cuts from 4 hour power cuts in hyderabad Quote
